The Problem
Aging roads, deteriorating water infrastructure, and outdated emergency plans don't make headlines until something goes wrong. The Town of Newburgh has deferred maintenance and delayed critical upgrades for too long, putting residents at risk and driving up the eventual cost of repairs. Meanwhile, our first responders need support and resources, not lip service.
Stephen's Plan
Develop a transparent capital plan. A publicly available, multi-year infrastructure plan that prioritizes projects based on need - not politics - and tracks progress so residents can see what's getting done.
Support our first responders. Police, fire, and EMS professionals deserve the staffing, equipment, and training they need to keep our community safe. Stephen will work directly with department leadership to identify gaps and close them.
Update emergency management plans. From severe weather to infrastructure failures, the town needs modern, tested emergency response plans. Stephen will ensure Newburgh is prepared - not just on paper, but in practice.
Tie development to infrastructure capacity. New development should only move forward when the roads, water, sewer, and emergency services can handle it. Growth without infrastructure isn't progress - it's a burden on existing residents.
Why It Matters
Stephen exposed unsafe working conditions and OSHA violations affecting town employees during his previous campaigns. He understands that infrastructure and safety aren't abstract policy debates - they're about whether the water is clean, the roads are passable, and help arrives when you call. He'll bring the same relentless scrutiny to making sure Newburgh's infrastructure works for everyone.
